AUD Diagnostic Services
Diagnostic audiological evaluations for infants, children, and adults are available to USU staff, students, and members of surrounding communities. Evaluations vary from simple pure tone screening to a complete battery of diagnostic hearing tests. Audiological testing is performed to accomplish several purposes. These include:
- determining the type and degree of hearing loss
- assessing the need for hearing instruments or other hearing assistive technology
- determining the need for habilitative or rehabilitative services such as speech reading, auditory training, and/ or speech and language training
- evaluating the balance system to assist medical diagnosis and recommend rehabilitative treatment
All diagnostic services are supervised by certified university staff members and are conducted by advanced students in the training program.
