• The Purpose of the PTA
  *To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship. To raise the standards of home life.
  
  *To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  
  *To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate more intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  
  *To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, social, and spiritual education.

• Why Join the Edith Bowen Lab School PTA?
  *Edith Bowen's PTA (Parent Teacher Association) focuses on “cranking up” the learning opportunities for our kids and creating a caring parent community to plan these opportunities. But only with parent involvement will every child succeed. We need parents to become involved in their children’s lives at school.
  
  *The PTA supports faculty and staff in their efforts to build a place where our kids are excited to learn and can’t wait to go to school!

  *“Fund Raiser Free Zone”.  Our students are not asked to sell candy bars, magazines, wrapping paper, or holiday cards, and parents are not asked to bake cookies.  For most folks, this alone is worth the $25, $20, or $15 annual membership fee.
  
  *Quality Education                                   
  You have already demonstrated your commitment to your family by investing time and effort in choosing EBLS in the first place.  Joining PTA is the next step to contribute to the quality of your child’s education.
  
  *Add to our Volunteer hours. 
  7,000 - 10,000 parent/family volunteer hours are donated via PTA activities each year.  Think we can top that this year?
  
  *EBLS-PTA is just plain fun!  We need your ideas and energy to accurately represent the diversity of our school.
  
  *Got issues?  We’ve got access.  PTA is our collective voice.  We have a strong positive relationship with EBLS faculty and staff; meaning honest discussions towards win-win resolutions.  So, if you need an ombudsman, we're there!
