Description: The Deaf Education Student Association is comprised of deaf and hearing students at Utah State University who are interested in working with and learning more about the Deaf population. D.E.S.A. promotes deaf awareness at U.S.U. and in the community as well as promotes excellence in the field of Deaf Education at U.S.U. and surrounding areas.

Elementary Education Association (E.E.A.)

Description: EEA is a professional student organization which provides great opportunities for future teachers to gain professional development through seminars, activities, and service. Some of the activities and presentations from the past have included speakers who have discussed future employment, subject integration in the classroom, surviving the first year as a teacher, and much more. We also help sponsor the Annual USU Multicultural Conference with Educators for Diversity.

Health Education Association (H.E.A.U.S.U.)

HEAU offers worthwhile opportunities for students to experience health education/promotion activities. National Student Speech, Language and Hearing Association (N.S.S.L.H.A.)

Description: NSSLHA is a student service organization for undergraduate and graduate students in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. Each year we have five to six community service projects for an organization with speech, language, or hearing needs. We also sponsor weekly brown bags for department students, and monthly activities for students, faculty and staff. Finally, we help plan and sponsor the graduation dinner for the department each year. We welcome participation for all students at all levels of study in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education.

Nation Honor Society in Psychology (Psi-Chi)

Description: Psi Chi (The National Honor Society in Psychology) is an organization that aims to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology. The Psi Chi invites undergraduates interested in psychology to participate in activities scheduled throughout the academic year. An example of some activities that have been sponsored by the Psi Chi include inviting professionals from the community to talk about important issues and career opportunities related to psychology, and inviting graduate students and faculty to share the aspects involved in pursuing graduate Education in psychology or related fields. Opportunities to participate in research projects conducted by USU psychology faculty are also announced.

Student Council for Exceptional Children (S.C.E.C.)

Description: The Student Council for Exception Children (SCEC) is a student chapter of The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcome for individuals within exceptionalities. Students at USU, along with faculty in the Special Education department, make up the membership of this chapter. SCEC activities include speakers on topics related to services for persons with disabilities, community service projects, attendance at state conferences, and social get togethers.

Utah Middle Level Student Association (U.M.L.S.A.)

Description: A student association for those interested in teaching middle school that provides opportunities for service, professional growth and social interaction with those of similar interests. UMLSA has been involved in helping host the Utah Middle School conference in Salt Lake City each spring. We have also completed service projects at local middle schools. Meetings are held monthly and membership is open to all those interested in learning more abut the middle school philosophy.
